As FlokiNET is committed to security of his customers and always researchs on options to enhance this we opend a project to get Two-Factor Authentication for all of our customers regardless of there product choosen if possible.

The last months we activated for choosen customers Two-Factor Authentication for cPanel to see how Two-Factor Authentication for cPanel works in daily enviroment for them and if there are any problems caused by this. No problems occurred during this test.

Therefore we have activated now 2factor authentication for all customers.

This function allows you to configure two-factor authentication (2FA), an improved security measure for the login interface of cPanel & WHM. Two-factor authentication requires two forms of identification:

  •     Your password.
  •     A generated security code.

When you enable 2FA, an application on your smartphone supplies a code that you must enter with your password to log in. Without your smartphone, you cannot log in. For more information about 2FA, read Wikipedia's Two-Factor Authentication article.

2FA requires a smartphone with a supported time-based one-time password (TOTP) app. We suggest the following apps:

For further details you can read the cPanel documentation:

https://documentation.cpanel.net/display/78Docs/Two-Factor+Authentication+for+cPanel

We are currently also working on a 2factor option for dedicated server and colocation customers, as soon as we have details we will publish it.
