How-to use Protonmail service with your shared-hosting/domain

While FlokiNET does not offer any assurances or guarantees, Protonmail has proven itself to be a reliable and safe email service, providing PGP encryption as standard method and other many features that are usually recommended to keep your emails private and safe.

This tutorial will show step by step how to use their email service together with your domain, which must be configured with our nameservers. Keep in mind that you can host your website/application with our VPS/Dedicated-Servers/Shared hosting and still use their email service.

According to current service features, currently this feature is only provided to clients that purchase one of the non-free packages. This tutorial is created assuming that you have purchased a package from Protonmail and have a domain/shared-hosting plan with FlokiNET.

1 - Login into Protonmail, Click on "Settings", on the left side menu "Domains.

2 - After inserting your domain, a TXT-DNS record will be generated, this record must be added into your CPanel account.

3 - Login on your CPanel account, Search for the "ZONE EDITOR" function.

4 -  On 'Zone Editor', click on 'Manage' on your domain.

5 - On the right side of the Add Record button, click TXT, on the new appearing fields, add: yourdomain.tld. and the record required by Protonmail - then click on "Add Record".

5 - Protonmail should now be able to see this record, but please notice that this may take from 4 to 24 hours. Protonmail currently has a system that will inform via email that the record was detected successfully.

6 - Create the email address accordingly and click SAVE, after the account configuration, MX DNS records must be set.

7 - MX-DNS records can be created/edited back on the 'ZONE EDITOR' inside your CPanel.

6 - MX-DNS, TXT, CNAME records can be created/edited back on the 'ZONE EDITOR' inside your CPanel (used for DKIM, SPF, DMARC), should look like this:

That's all! :D
