Install Mastodon and run your own instance

Hosting your own Mastodon instance on a VPS or dedicated server allows you to have complete control over a decentralized social media platform that you can customize however you like.

Requirements:

  • A fully qualified domain name (you can register one with us here -> FlokiNET Domain Registration)
  • VPS / Dedicated Server
  • Runing Mastodon requires some resources, so we recommend a minimum configuration close to:
    • 4GB RAM
    • 4 vCPUs
    • OS: Debian 12 or Ubuntu (22.04 +)
  • An email provider (ProtonMail, Mailgun or other)
  • Optional: an Object storage provider
